
Bird Nest Cookies
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk and white separated
Tart jelly
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
CREAM shortening, sugar and egg yolk, ADD dry ingredients. FORM small balls, ROLL in beaten egg white and ROLL in chopped nuts. BAKE at 300°F for 30 minutes.
